cruises

By travelling together, we look after each other, sharing our knowledge and expertise, and sometimes tools!  If we are on a dock, we generally get together later in the day for Docktales and Docktails – a yarn and a drink.  During COVID-19 health protocols, we have switched to dinghy get-togethers, where we socially distance by tying our dinghies together to float around for a social hour or two.  We are lucky to have a number of musicians in the Club who enjoy playing together, so we often have sing-alongs in the evenings. We go on walks, hikes, and explore our destination surroundings.  We have fun with our water toys (kayaks, SUPs) when we are at anchor, and share prawning, crabbing, and fishing tips.

Joining a Club cruise is a great way to get to know other Club members, while discovering new anchorages, docks, routes, and cruising areas.  Past cruises have been north to the Broughton Archipelago, south to Vancouver for the Fireworks, the San Juan Islands, and east to Lund and Okeover. At the start of each boating season, Club members propose the cruises, some repeating their favourites, and others are new adventures.

(No boat?  Some of our docks have land-based accommodations and we are happy to have you join us by car or RV.)

Whether you are on a Club cruise or not, members may be able to take advantage of our “Reciprocal Programme”.  By pre-arrangement, we have access to one or two free nights staying at various yacht clubs.  In return, we provide dockage at the Government Wharf in Comox for members of clubs that participate in this programme.
